Village clerics protect and tend their flock, welcoming new members with every birth. These folk are influential, and while they do not hoard, they are likely among the wealthiest members of the community. Much of the community's education with regards to written language and history comes from the local clergy. While visitors are generally viewed with suspicion, clerics of the same deity are welcomed into the fold. Clerics of other deities, even those friendly to theirs, are usually encouraged to move on to another village.

Clerical services (ceremony, blessings, healing, spells, or holy water) are never simply free and normally only available to members of the congregation. Extreme circumstances may encourage these village priests to help those outside of their flock (if of similar philosophy and a handsome tithe is offered).
