Who are you and where did you come from?
There are many ways to have found yourself in Mercy. You might have lived there your whole life, been rescued from the towers and brought to live there, escaped the towers as a worker or leader, or once traveled the Deadscape without more direction than survival. People continue to arrive in the town from the Towers and those that wander the lands...
Freelanders: Those that have lived in Mercy for a while or forever. You were already here when the towers fell to the Rogues and have been a citizen for some time. Freelanders of Mercy are made up of all walks of life from the top of the power structure to the citizens that make up the town, even the outlaws and thieves have a go at life in Mercy! Some citizens came from the towers long ago, rescued by the Freelanders of Mercy or escaped the tyranny on their own before the fall to the Rogues.
Tower People: These are those from the towers that have come to Mercy since the Rogues took the towers a few months ago. They come from all levels of tower life, from the workers treated more like slaves, to the skilled tradesman and technically minded and of course the very top, the leaders of the tower. The leaders are unwelcome by many, including those they used to oppress, but their knowledge and understanding of how to make life better are unparalleled.
Rogues: Some live in great nomadic tribes that scavenge or take the resources they need. Some are lone wanderers that do what they need to for survival. And some have recently taken over the tower closest to Mercy and might not like what life they now live or might want to infiltrate Mercy for their own designs. Whatever the reason, Rogues live by their code of law, though some do thirst for life in society if they can figure out how to fit in.
