Please be aware that Mercy has only one easy-to-access entrance and exit. This is guarded 24/7 by NPC guards from the Sheriff's office. Anyone is allowed to leave Mercy as they please and at their own risk, but only citizens are allowed back in without being taken to be interviewed.

When a law appears to have been broken:
The Sheriff or his deputy will decide if the offense is chargeable at their discretion.
Offenders accused of murder, rape, theft or tampering with the water supply will be confined by the law to collect evidence. Others may be confined depending on the severity of the accusation.
No person can be confined for more than 5 real-life days and there should be attempts to offer roleplay daily to anyone confined.
Within four days of confinement or major charges, each party should be able to express their testimony in the form of a town hall or in a forum for all to read if the timing doesn't work out.
The leaders of the town should meet within those same four days to discuss the Sheriff's proposal for punishment should the accused be found guilty.
The sim will determine innocence or guilt and justice carried out swiftly.
