ePrincipal® - An Overview

ePrincipal® allows Ontario elementary school principals to display and analyze online data from student report cards.

ePrincipal® Mobile allows you to transfer student information to a Palm handheld.

Click the ePrincipal icon in the MxWeb screen.

Report Card Data

Select Report Card Data in the left-hand side, if not already selected, by clicking it.

Then click Report Card Data in the right-hand side.

Use the drop-down filters at the top of the report window to refine the information that is displayed in the reporting window.

To print a report use the Print icon in the toolbar.

'Honor Roll' and 'Students at Risk' Reports

Select Honour Roll / At Risk in the left-hand side, if not already selected, by clicking it.

Then click Honour Roll / At Risk in the right-hand side.

The Honour Roll / At Risk tool lists students whose average lies above or below a user-selected value.

1. You may select some or all subjects. For each stranded subject, you may select some or all the strands.

2. Click the Select All button to select all the subjects and all their strands.

Click the Deselect All button to deselect all the subjects/strands.

3. Select one or more grades by checking the respective checkboxes.

4. Click the Select All button to select all the grades.

5. Check this checkbox to compute subject averages using the strand marks and then averaging the subjects.

If left unchecked, all the selected strands will be averaged independently.

6. Click the Above radio button for honor rolls.

Click the Below button to list students at risk.

7. Enter the desired cut-off mark, for either honor rolls or students-at-risk categories.

8. Use the three left-most drop-downs to select the school, school year and reporting period, if not already selected.

The default selection for the Reporting Period drop-down is <All Periods>.

The Sort By drop-down allows you to select the sorting type. Sorting by marks will list the students in the decreasing order of their averages.

9. Click the Display button to display the report based on the selections you made.

10. Use the Report List drop-down to select a previously saved report, then click Load to have it displayed.

11. Type in a name and then click Save to save the current report.

Click the Delete button to remove the report currently selected by Report List.

'Honor Roll' and 'Students at Risk' (Learning Skills) Reports

The number of points for each student is calculated by assigning four points to an Excellent rated learning skill, three points to a Good rating, and so on.

Use the checkboxes and drop-downs to select the grades, school (if not already selected), school year and reporting period.

The Sort By drop-down allows you to select the sorting type. Sorting by marks will list the students in the decreasing order of their averages.

A new report is displayed each time you change one of the selections.

Click the Above radio button for honor rolls.

Click the Below button to list students at risk.

Enter the desired cut-off number of points using the numeric drop-down (on the right-hand side) of the Select Points Range field, for either honor rolls or students-at-risk categories.

Comparisons of Reporting Periods

You may view student average changes from one reporting period to the next.

Select Honour Roll/At Risk in the left-hand side, if not already selected, by clicking it.

Then click Comparison of Reporting Periods in the right-hand side.

Use the drop-downs provided to select the school, school-year, grade and subject.

You may select <All Subjects> using the Subject drop-down.

Averages are displayed for all the students, who are sorted alphabetically based on their last names.

A new comparison report between reporting periods is displayed each time you change one of the selections.

Click the Bar Chart icon to view a Bar Chart representation of the student's data.

Student Profiles

Select Student Profiles in the left-hand side, if not already selected, by clicking it.

Then click Student Profiles in the right-hand side.

Use the drop-downs provided to select the school, school year, grade and student.

You may select <All Grades> using the Grade drop-down.

The marks, learning skills' appraisals and comments are listed for all subjects.

For stranded subjects, marks are displayed on a per-strand basis.

General Reports

Select General Reports in the left-hand side, if not already selected, by clicking it.

Select the desired report in the right-hand side.

Class Report

This report lists the highest, lowest median and mean mark on a per course (i.e. per grade and subject) as well as per term basis.

Select the school, school year and term

You may select <All Terms> using the Reporting Period drop-down.

Click the Bar Chart icon to view a Bar Chart representation of the data on a per subject basis.

Summary Report

This report lists the marks of all the students of any selected class.

The students' list is sorted alphabetically based on the students' last names.

Select the school, school year, reporting period, grade and class.

Click in the Show skills checkbox (at the screen's top-right corner) to display the learning skills of the students:
