4 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1.5 cups of warm water
Sift the flour into a large bowl and add the salt
Mix the yeast, sugar, and water in a separate bowl and wait for it to bubble
Add the yeast, sugar, and water to the flour and salt. Mix together until combined
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes
Transfer the dough to a bowl greased with olive oil. Cover and let rest for 1 - 2 hours
Portion the dough and shape to let rise (if baking right away). The rest can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 - 5 days
Bake in a preheated oven (for bread and loaves) at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes (depending on the style and size)
Or bake buns or pizza in the air fryer for 10 minutes
If making buns or pretzels, transfer the shaped dough into a pot of water and baking soda for 1 minute before baking.
If baking a large loaf in a Dutch oven, preheat the Dutch oven by putting it in the oven for 30 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius. Then, line the Dutch oven with parchment paper and bake for 30 minutes with the lid on and then 10 minutes with the lid off.
