Medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical chemistry has moved from its early emphasis on synthesis, chemical structure and reactions to encompass many elements of pharmacology, biochemistry and molecular biology. The test items in this chapter reflect this, although a considerable effort has been made to focus on chemical aspects. Some quite elementary chemistry is also touched upon.
