I served the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Southern Cross University, as a Casual Academic (Teaching) from 8 July 2019 to 29 October 2021. Before that, I taught as an Assistant Professor at Department of Pharmacy, Northern University Bangladesh where I worked as an academic from 03 Feb 2007 to 28 Mar 2015, lastly as an Assistant Professor.
In addition, I was an Adjunct Faculty for Chemistry, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Northern University Bangladesh from 01 Oct 2008 to 29 Jul 2010.
My teaching method is based on understanding, visualisation and critical thinking and I always discourage rote-based learning and memorization. I used multimedia, video and animation as well as replica/models of human body systems (i.e. cardiovascular system, gastrointestinal system-collected from the pharmaceutical companies used as promotional materials) to provide a better understanding and imagine what is actually happening inside the human body. I approach topic by topic and go inside the theory and emphasise on things related to those topics that appear in practical life. I like teaching, make the student dive deep into the topic, make the core matter interesting and also show the probable future application of the topic in their career.
I am one of the high-achieving teachers both in Australia and Bangladesh based on the student’s feedback. In both places, I worked to motivate, engage, guide and inspire students for their study and future career focusing on industry requirements.
During the more than eight years teaching at the Northern University Bangladesh in the Department of Pharmacy, I taught the following subjects at different semesters-
Human physiology and anatomy
Organic chemistry
Inorganic chemistry
Microbiology
