Job responsibilities
Support the agreed delivery of technical services in the designated area . We identify and authenticate herbal medicinal samples for their charecteristic bioactive constituents, possible adulturations, admixtures and cross contamination of of bioactives.
Implement and practice Good manufacturing practices (GMP), Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), compliance, and risk management guidelines.
Manage lab equipment and resources, ensure compliance, oversee common resources, and liaise with staff and suppliers.
Act as Floor Evacuation Warden, First Aider, Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator (WHSC), and support the institute as a Controlled Substances, and Radiation Safety Officer.
Participate in the Workplace Health and Safety committee, maintain Risk Assessment database, conduct safety inspections, provide safety inductions, and assist with staff training.
Train and support staff with compliance documentation, coordinate office infrastructure, oversee allocation of resources, and maintain databases.
Manage lab support budgets, infrastructure, assets, and act as the central contact point between research staff and senior management.
Solving common maintenance and troubleshooting like changing and cleaning of columns and guard columns, solvent systems, checking nitrogen levels, detection of niddlie contamination etc.
Provide research support for biomedical researchers and post graduate students using high-end HPLC/MS systems in their research. This includes sample preparation, analysis using appropriate instruments and associated data analysis software.
Provide effective training of research staff & students on platform equipment.
Undertake maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment, and troubleshoot issues with scientific/technical equipment
Apply and/or instruct others on the application of advanced or specialist or technical research skills or processes
Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of research equipment, infrastructure, methodologies and protocols
Ensure the appropriate storage, handling and disposal of chemicals, equipment, stores and/or samples/specimens
Undertake literature searches and reviews, and assists with drafting research documentation, including ethics and funding applications
Assists with routine team administration and preparing reports, graphs, figures and presentations on research outcomes at different stages of the research cycle outcomes
Communicate with collaborators within an NIH-funded project
