Description: The Investors in People (IIP) award is a globally recognized standard for people management, recognizing organizations that demonstrate a commitment to investing in their workforce. DEWA, as a leading organization in the UAE, has a strong commitment to its employees. HR department launched a project to prepare for the IIP award and requested the Excellence project department to manage the project with them.
Objectives: The main objective of this project is for DEWA to successfully achieve the IIP award, recognizing the organization as a leading employer in the UAE. In order to achieve this, the following specific objectives have been identified:
1. Assess DEWA's current people management practices against the IIP framework.
2. Identify areas for improvement and develop a plan to address these areas.
3. Implement the plan and monitor progress towards meeting the IIP standard.
4. Engage employees in the process and ensure that their needs and views are taken into consideration.
5. Achieve the IIP award in Platinum Category.
Key Milestones and Achievements: following are our part of the projects achievements:
1. Reviewed all relevant project documents, including the presentation and submission materials.
2. Prepared a comprehensive DEWA Context Presentation for the assessors, highlighting the organization's unique culture and people management practices.
3. Developed a presentation for DEWA to present to the assessors during the assessment process.
4. Participated in the assessment process, answering questions and providing additional information as needed.
5. Prepared the divisional teams for the assessment process by providing awareness and coaching on the IIP framework and the assessment process.
6. Developed a detailed site visit schedule to ensure that the assessors had the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of employees and observe DEWA's people management practices in action.
7. Facilitated the site visit by providing support and assistance to the assessors and coordinating the various activities and meetings that were scheduled.
As result of the project and the involvement of Projects Department and the divisions teams and efforts of HR team and Excellence Projects team, DEWA Successfully achieved the IIP award, recognizing DEWA in platinum top category.
