Weight Certifications & Weight Control Program
Tests for hydration tests, body fat percentages, and minimum weight classes are established by school trainers.
Trainers conduct tests no earlier than November 5, 2024, and no later than November 22nd.
Virginia High School League (VHSL) establishes requirements and guidelines for weight and hydration controls.

Minimum wrestling weights (MWW) and minimum weight classes are identified for each wrestler.
Wrestlers are discouraged from wrestling at body fat percentages below 7% body fat for males, and 12% body fat for females.
Physicians notes are required for wrestlers below minimum body fat percentages to certify they are healthy ~ Click Here
Wrestlers are required to check and record weights every day at practice!
Weight Loss Schedules
Daily weight checks are required and recorded by athletes and coaches.
1.5% weight loss per week maximum allowed.
After each official competition weighin, TrackWrestling automatically calculates the minimum authorized weight allowed for future dates. Athletes can identify how low they can go when preparing for the post-season.
