Athletic Director Notes

COVID information (Email on Nov 9th from Mr. Treon)

    • Quarantine Period: LCPS announces that beginning on Monday, November 8, 2021, students and staff that are close contacts of those diagnosed with COVID may return to school after seven days if, after day 5, they remain symptom free and provide a negative COVID test. LCPS has take-home diagnostic COVID tests available on demand while supplies last. To get a school-provided take-home test, families would ask the clinic in their school about a free test. Families may also provide test results from an outside medical provider. Take-home tests are provided through the Virginia School Screening Testing for Assurance (ViSSTA) program and are proctored through the ViSSTA vendor. Unproctored tests will not be accepted.

    • Masks for Indoor Guidelines for Athletics and Activities (THESE ARE LCPS RULES FOR EVENTS IN COUNTY OR OUT OF COUNTY). All participants, staff, spectators, and others not actively involved in practices and competitions must wear masks during practices and on the sidelines. Masks are required all the time in classrooms, locker rooms, and team rooms.

    • Masks for Outdoor Guidelines for Activities and Athletics: Masks are not required for outdoor activities. Spectators are not required to wear masks.

Locker Rooms Supervision (Email on Nov 8th from Mr. Treon forwarded from LCPS)

    • Please remind your coaches to supervise their athletes in locker rooms and team rooms before and after practices until their parent or guardian picks them up. It is their legal duty of supervision. You can remind them to review the handbook for a better understanding of their role. Thank you in advance for clarifying your expectations for your coaches.
