This is but a part of the team of classmates who have devoted a lot of time to insure a fun reunion this year.

A Mix-and-Mingle Event Has Been Added to Our Agenda

Friday Night, September 9, 2022

Furniture Factory Bar and Grill

619 Meridian Street, Huntsville, AL 35801

256-539-8001

Plan to join your classmates at the Furniture Factory Bar and Grill on the Friday night before the Saturday reunion. This is a Dutch Treat event and promises to add to your enjoyment on the Reunion weekend. It is not offered as part of the reunion registration but is a stand-alone event. Everyone is responsible for their own food and drinks. The Furniture Factory offers a full drink and dinner menu sure to keep everyone happy! Delicious appetizers like grilled chicken and shrimp are readily available, as well as mouth-watering entrees like steak filets and classic Reuben sandwiches!

Our group plans to show up around 6:00 pm and informally enjoy spending the evening together. This is not a formal event and there will be other customers who are not part of our Lee High group. Look around, you'll find someone you know.

NOTICE: The deadline to register for the rendezvous has passed. Any latecomers cannot be guaranteed access to the dinner menu.

Sunday Morning, September 11th, Breakfast Planned

We plan to meet at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Huntsville South, 6000 Memorial Parkway SW, for breakfast on the morning after the reunion. Breakfast Starts at 6:30 in the Bistro as a buffet and hotel Guests have breakfast included, BUT, it is open to all others at $15 each. There is a large seating area and inviting all that would like to join in for a "Goodbye Until Next Time" Wrap-Up seems like a great idea. We've done this almost every reunion in the past but not as a planned activity, so we're making it an Official Tradition!! Time To Meet: TBD (Not 6:30!!)

Faces of Our Past

1990 Reunion of Lee High School Classes 1964-65-66

(Parts 16 - 17 - 18)

A Video by Niles Prestage, LHS '65

Tommy Towery

LHS '64

One of my prized possessions from my Lee High School association is a copy of the VHS video tape Niles Prestage, LHS '65, made during the 25th Reunion get-together which took place in 1990. I am happy that later in my life I converted it to a digital format and was able to upload it to youtube.com. I have shown these video clippings in Lee's Traveller in the past, but now is an appropriate time to once again feature them. Previously they were only shown in five minute clips per week, but since the next reunion is quickly approaching I decided to show them in groups of three (approximately 15 minutes total per week). There are 22 5-minute segments available. Included in these videos are many who are no longer with us, and it is great to once again see their smiling faces and hear their voices.

Just want you to know that this is the last issue of Lee's Traveller before the upcoming Class of '64-'65-'66 reunion with invited guests from other classes. Although we are past the registration deadline, you can still try to attend, but know you might not be able to eat.

Also, remember this is a BYOB reunion and you need to bring your own drinks and ice (both soft drinks and your personal alcoholic drinks as well.) There will be music and fellowship. If you have some special songs you wish to hear, please use the form below to request them.

Nametags are done, but should there be any errors in names or class years, I will have my printer with me and we can make corrections on the spot. Also, if you don't mind, you may save the paper nametag if you wish, but there will be a box available for you to drop off the plastic nametag holder and lanyards. We might have another reunion and saving the nametag holders will cut down on future costs.

So...here's looking at you kid. We hope you and your young love will have a good time.

This Week's Questions, Answers, Comments

William Dale Meyer, "Thanks, Tommy. So looking forward to this!"

Gene Siders, "Thank you so much for sharing the passing of our classmates.  I live in Ohio now and don’t get to visit Huntsville.  It has been many years since I have been able to visit Huntsville, and Lee High and my friends there will always hold a special place in my heart.  Terry Preston and Jimmy Durham were special friends during my high years as well as Coach Godsey."
