My Senior Prom Night

LHS '65

These are a few pictures of Senior Prom 1965.

I think my mom was as excited as we were.  She graduated in 1945 from Anniston High in the final days of WW II and she had said her class did not have a Senior Prom so this was her's to enjoy.

We’re back!!!

Hello friends!

Well, it has been a long couple of years since we were last together for one of our fun lunches. Bad old Covid just messed up lots of plans for all of us these last couple of years, but now it is time for us to get out and get together. I know that this is a month later than our usual spring lunch and also very short notice, but it is the best that I could do for this time. I really do hope that many of you will be free to come and join us in a couple of weeks so we can catch up on what has been happening in your lives these last couple of years while we were in confinement eating junk food, watching Netflix, eating junk food, getting to know those in our immediate household REALLY well, eating junk food, etc.

Please do let us know if you plan to come as I will need to let Logan’s know by the day before. As usual, we will meet in the fireplace room/garage room. See you!

It looks like the Knology emails are once again making it through the spam filters and reaching our classmates. This problem pops up about every three months or so, lasts a couple of weeks, then magically goes away. Perhaps enough of their clients complain enough to make it happen.

This week's thanks goes out to Dennis Hollingsworth for sending in some photos of the night of the 1965 Lee High School Senior Prom. Now the challenge goes out to the members of the Class of '66 to give us the rundown on their Senior Prom. Those of us who left in 1964 and 1965 were not around to see how y'all did on prom night. You can send me photos and writeups to tommytowery@gmail.com.

Please notice that the Lee Lunch Bunch will once again take place. This is the first time in around two years this event has been scheduled. Thanks to Patsy Hughes Oldroyd ’65 for sending in the information about it.

One final notice. Below is a a survey I am taking to see how many of you ended up marrying the person you attended your senior prom with. This should be a fun thing to see. Please respond if you did.

Photographic Memories - Who Are They?

Each week I plan to share a group of photos from the 1960 "The General" yearbook without disclosing the names of the individuals. You may stop and try to identify them here, and when you are through you may scroll to the bottom of this page to see the identities of your classmates in the photos.
