Our Recent Cruise

Tommy Towery

LHS '64

I have been extremely busy this last week trying to complete my 8th book of collected B-52 crew stories which I have to get to the printers this week. Without any great ideas coming from any of you, I will now bore you with vacation photos from the trip Sue and I took in late April, returning early May. I do not post photos for anyone to see while we are away from home because I do not want the whole world to know we are away from home, so I wait until I get back from our trips to share them.

I may have told you that we took a 14-day trans-Atlantic cruise and ended up spending a few days in England and one day in Germany before we came home. All told we were gong three weeks and one day. We cruised on the Norwegian Jade from Miami to Southampton, then stayed a few days in London before going to my old Air Force base in Mildenhall for a few more days. We could not get a military flight out of there so we took the high speed train from London to Ramstein, Germany and caught a flight home on a C-17 cargo aircraft.

Here are a few highlights of the trip. Click on any photo for a larger view.

Ponta Delgada, Azors

Bath, England

Stonehenge, England

Windsor Castle, England

Parliment Building, London

Big Ben (They're working on it!)

On the high speed (180mph) Train through the Chunnel from London to Germany

Normandy Beach, France

Coming Home on the C-17

That's us...Elderly people!!!

Memphis, TN - I'm working too hard to be an old retired man. Forgive me for pulling out the slide projector and making you sit through all my vacation slides (in a digital way of speaking), but I just could not come up with anything else to share with you this week.

To Family and Friends, this photo was taken on Father's Day.  Grandson Nolan (blue shirt) will be two in August; Nick turned three in April.  Kevin is 37.  MS is doing well on a recently FDA-approved med, Ocrevis, given IV q 6 months.

I am back to work full-time, almost five months post-op 6-vessel coronary bypass.

Have a great 4th of July.
