Chapter 3 - Introductions

Introducing People Who Do Not Know Each Other

When two people do not know each other, to introduce them, you would use the phrase "Te presento a", followed by the person's name.

Te presento a... — Let me introduce you to.... (non-literal translation)

More formally, if you are using "usted," the phrase you would use is "Le presento a"

Responding to an introduction:

Two common phrases you could use are

Mucho gusto -- nice to meet you / likewise

Un placer -- a pleasure

If someone says nice to meet you or a pleasure, then you would respond with this word:

Igualmente -- nice to meet you too (non-literal translation)
