The Personal Pronouns
Spanish has more pronouns than English. These are the singular personal pronouns. Notice that there are two ways to say “you." The pronoun tú is used for people you know, family or peers, and usted is used to addressed people who are in authority or those that you do not know. Notice also that Spanish does not have the pronoun “it.”

Culture note: The pronoun "vos" instead instead of tú is used by speakers in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica, as well as some regions of Bolivia, Chile, Perú, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panamá, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, México y Cuba.
