Instead of saying "No me gusta," Francisco said "Yo prefiero" I prefer, which is a more diplomatic way of stating he dislikes the countryside.

Other Direct Ways to Disagree with Someone
If you know the person well or the situation does not call for diplomacy, it is possible to disagree or state your opinion more directly.
Examples:
Person A: Me gusta el chocolate - I like chocolate.
Person B: A mí no - I don´t.
Person A: No me gusta el café - I don´t like coffee.
Person B: A mí sí - I do.
