LA Program Description

  • How was the program started?

    • The LA program started as a collaboration with University of Colorado Boulder. The goal was two-fold:

      • increase the number of K-12 STEM education majors by recruiting students while they are enrolled in community college.

      • increase pass rates in introductory math and science courses.

  • How is the program administered?

    • One coordinator housed in the department of mathematics administers the program.

  • How is the program funded?

    • The program is funded under the National Science Foundation, Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program.

  • Future plans for expansion?

    • We are looking to expand our program to two other FRCC campuses located in Westminster and Fort Collins, and have those campuses partner with local four-year universities.
