  • Institution Description: Seattle Pacific University is a private, liberal arts, Christian university in Seattle. SPU serves approximately 3,000 undergraduate students and 870 graduate students.

LA Program Description

  • How was the program started?

    • The program started with one professor looking for a way to support his efforts to transform his course.

  • How is the program administered ?

    • Hiring and administration is done at the department level except the University Foundation LAs which are hired and supported by a center on campus.

  • How is the program funded?

    • The program is funded by the departments except for the University Foundations LAs which are currently funded by a university grant. When the university grant period is over these LAs will be funded by the College of Theology or the Provost.

  • Future plans for expansion?

    • The program is growing both in terms of number of departments that use LAs and in the number of courses within current departments that are LA-supported.
