External Description : GYWS is a NGO run by a team of students and professors of the campus, with assistance from local social enthusiasts. GYWS aims to improve the living standards of the people of Gopali (a village located 5 km from the IIT campus) - M
Internal Description : GYWS is a NGO that works for the upliftment of society, and is based from IITKGP & the Gopali village. To this effect, we have several initiatives, such as the following : Taking worship/prayer for students (for holistic development), teaching interesting ways of study, bettering communication skills, etc. However, our largest project is running a school named JVM (Jagriti Vidhya Mandir), which is completely managed by the GYWS team. The school is till 5th standard, with salaried teachers, and a free residential hostel. Thus, in order to maintain this complex system, we have several teams behind the scenes.
