External Description : AGV is an interdisciplinary team aspiring to win the Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition held at Oakland University and be involved in the Research work related to autonomous and mobile robots. - M
Internal Description : AGV, which stands for autonomous ground vehicle research group is a Research Group (RG) which researches (duh) work related to vehicles which operate without human intervention. There are 3 teams : software team works on the algorithms like optical flow, multi-agent control, computer vision, etc; embedded team does work related to making chips for the bots and integrating features such as scanning and control systems; and mechatronics team which creates a chassis (framework) for the bot. It's a very cool research group! I'd recommend everyone gives it a try when selections happen in 2nd sem (after midsems), regardless of if you want to join, as the tasks are very, very challenging but you will learn a crazy amount of info from it.
ARK members often collaborate with AGV members a lot in inter IIT if there's an aerial control PS.
