Robert Nightingall

1874 - 1915

Bob Nightingall was born at Epsom on March 22, 1874, and was one of four jump jockey brothers.

He rode his first winner over jumps on Swindler.

His best wins were on Rory O'Moore in the 1896 Grand Sefton, and Golden Ring in the 1896 Liverpool November Hurdle.

In July 1903, he was unemployed and bankrupt. His debts were £670; his assets nil. He attributed his failure to bad racing accidents suffered in October 1901 & May 1902.

Bob died in a London nursing home on June 8, 1915, after a long illness.
