George Knight Noble, the son of a stableman, was born at Middleham, and his main claims to fame were his victories in the 1863 City & Suburban on Adventurer and the 1864 Park Hill Stakes on Battaglia. He was apprenticed to Charles Winteringham.
George died at Richmond on May 29th, 1902, aged 54.
His son, George Jnr., was also a jockey.
