Graham Nicholls

National Hunt jockey Graham Nicholls rode his first winner, Brown Nut, at Wye in 1955.

Born on November 15, 1933, his best season came in 1956-57 when he rode 13 winners. Big races won included the Walter Hyde Chase & the Star & Garter Chase.

He served his apprenticeship with Capt. Cecil Boyd-Rochfort and Ivor Anthony.

Graham lived at 20, Kinnersley, Severn Stoke, Worcs.

On June 29, 1857, he married Cynthia Chicken.

Graham enjoyed crosswords and squash.
