Man's fellowship
When God said “Us,” it’s a manner of God’s speaking under some special backgrounds. For example, when Jesus became flesh, He mentioned the “Father.” Why did He mention the “Father”? Because if He had said He was God, man wouldn’t have accepted at all. Afraid that man would not accept Him, Jesus had to mention the “Father.” Man’s eyes cannot directly penetrate the spiritual world or see the divine substance of God, so God had to adopt a way to speak to such a mankind who can’t directly penetrate the spiritual realm. For this reason, the term “the Father” came into being, “the Son” came into existence too, and sometimes God also claimed Himself to be “Us.” In fact, God is one true God. Whenever the Father, the Son, or “Us” is mentioned, it’s a way of saying, that is, it’s a manner adopted by God in a special background. Then, is it all right not to say in this way? Of course. After you fully understand the truth, God will change His way of saying when talking about it again. God used one tone when speaking to unbelievers, and another tone to the true believers in Him. Why did God speak in parables to unbelievers? Because God didn’t want them to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but only wanted to let the believers know. This was why He used parables. The unbelievers can’t comprehend even after hearing the parables, but the believers will get God's enlightenment after having a fellowship. God does His work in different ways and with wisdom, so sometimes He adopts various speaking manners, such as the “Holy Father,” or the “Father,” “My Father,” “Us,” or the “Holy Spirit.” Here, God said “Us.” Why is it “Us?” At the mention of “Us,” it includes the incarnate God who was to do the work of salvation and appear to man. This was the reason God used “Us.” Here “Us” definitely refers to the Son and the Father. The former is God incarnate, the latter is the Spirit. Supposing only God, the Spirit, is mentioned, how can the Spirit possess the image of man? It doesn’t make sense. But at the mention of “Our image,” it refers to the incarnate God. God incarnate has the image of man, so God’s mention of “Us” when He created man foreshadows that the incarnate God would come in the future. God becomes flesh to do His work, and it is according to this image that God is incarnated to express the truth and work the truth into man, and then man will live out what God says about “Our image.” Do you think “Our image” represents God’s image merely? No, here man’s image is also included. “Our image” includes the image of God incarnate. “Our image” means that there is man’s image, as well as God’s substance within, which is God’s word and what God has and is. Such an image is called “Our image.” We can’t say that “Our image” is entirely the image of God. If God says God’s image here, there’s no way that man can live out the image of God. It’s beyond man’s ability. But when God said “Our image,” it’s quite objective, and the image is attainable to man. In other words, if we can live out the words expressed by God incarnate today, won’t God’s word be fulfilled? God’s words that “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness” will then be fulfilled. If God says He made man in God’s image, we have no idea how these words will be fulfilled. Is man able to live out God’s image? When God says “Our image,” He refers to the truth expressed by God incarnate, and such an image can be lived out by man and is practical. So, “Our” here is quite meaningful. If you explain the words with man’s notion and say that “God just made man in God’s image. That’s it. And man will live out God’s image,” do you think it’s possible? Absolutely not. But when God said “Our image,” it becomes possible. The meaning of God’s word is so profound. I can’t fully explain it. I only have a little bit of shallow knowledge. Maybe we’ll understand more of it after experiencing to the end. But I can’t say I’ve truly understood these words now.
