Windmills and Pinwheels

I live in a rural area in SE Oregon and have taken many pictures over the years of barns, tractors, rusted out farm equipment, windmills, cows, and interesting landscapes.  I became inspired by a local project of large painted quilt blocks that were being installed on barns and old buildings.  I started constructing the barn one board at a time, a painted quilt block, a windmill, hay barn, and several thread painted Hereford cows.  I painted the water trough and created an old 1940's farm truck with fabric, metallic paint, and heat distressed paints.  The landscape is a collage of cotton and ice dyed silk fabrics that represent the fields, water ponds, and the hills in the distance.  The grasses were thread painted...
