Aspen Ridge

Aspen Ridge was my first attempt to make a quilt that resembles a water color painting. We have lots of mule deer in our yard and the deer on this quilt started with photos that I took and drawings. They were inked on fabric and then thread painted on a hoop. Using snippets for leaves and thread painted bushes were also a first on this quilt. The quilting stitch is an irregular jerky type stitch. Different colors of this stitch were overlapped to blend colors.
