Mesa Verde Cliff Palace
Maesa Verde Cliff Palace by Joanne Baeth and Kathy Adams. Joanne and Kathy have participated together in several art quilt groups since 2009. This group became just the two of them three years ago. After visiting Mesa Verde National Park they decided to focus on the intricate details of cliff dwellings based on a photo that Joanne had taken. Kathy moved to Tucson about 1000 miles from Joanne so the project became more difficult. They worked separately, emailed pictures and the quilt back and forth, and were able to meet three times.
Kathy completed the panel #1, Joanne panel #2, and they both worked on panel #3
Methods used were fusing, hand embellishment, hand dyeing, painting, heat distressing, scrunching, Texture Magic, thread painting, beading, and snippets with a wide variety of materials: cotton, silk, rayon, organiza, tulle Lutradur, yars, ribbons, beads, glitter, metallic threads, gauze, and puff paints.
