Country Roads

Country Roads was inspired by old farms and rural scenes. My husband Darryl and I took pictures of old farm buildings and antique tractors for two years. This very detailed quilt includes textured trees, thread painted bushes and grasses, and weathered fences with barbed wire made from painted cording. The barn and house were constructed one board at a time. The old tractors with their simple engines were created separately and attached to the quilt. All of the very tiny pieces were fused and sewn very close to the raw edge. There is extensive machine quilting.
