Great Blue Herons

The sky and water were constructed from pieces of purchased fabrics. The cat tails are thread painted on the quilt and the leaves were cut out, inked and fused. The five large herons have thread painted feathers as well as individual feathers that were cut out, highlighted with inks, fused and stitched. The border was added after the flange and includes cross hatching quilting on the corners.
