Standing Tall
Standing Tall was inspired by a photo of a tree that I took while my husband and I were out hiking. I decided to include Eagles because we observe them often in Southeastern Oregon. In fact the Klamath Basin has the largest wintering population of eagles in the lower forty eight states. The needles of the fir trees were thread painted right on the quilt top with several colors of green and the mountain and sky were hand painted. The many feathers were painted, cut out, fused and stitched. Extensive machine quilting and a matching binding completed this quilt.
