Sea Breeze

My family and I salmon fish on the Oregon Coast for two months every summer. Sea Breeze was inspired by a wall of collected buoys that I took a picture of. The rest of the quilt is a a collage of several water front scenes. I started by painting and cutting out the buoys and decided that I would make the small boats and buildings in the same colors. I painted the sky, did extensive thread painting for the trees, heat distressed the paint on the piers and roofs, and did lots of machine quilting.
