Settlement of drinking

Article 1 : Substance

This settlement with respect to drinking at Hitotsubashi International Residence Halls (hereinafter referred to as the "dormitory") provide for the necessary matters.

Article 2 : Fundamental Rules of Alcohol

Hitotsubashi University (hereinafter referred to as the "University") does not permit under-age 20 drinking. Residents of Hitotsubashi International Residence Halls (hereinafter referred to as "residents") are not allowed to serve or offer to those under-age 20.

Article 3 : Prohibited Matters

Alcohol may not be consumed in any part of dormitory except in contractually assigned private residence hall rooms and dining spaces (hereinafter referred to as "private spaces"). However, if permission is granted by the University, student organizations may consume alcohol in non-private spaces at a registered and approved events). Residents will be penalized when they disturb public order, regardless of if they are drinking in a private space.

Article 4 : Penalty, etc.

In the case of a violation of the provisions of the preceding Article, the University reserves the right to take following actions;

• Take disciplinary action based on the university regulations.

• Revoke the resident’s dormitory residency permission under Article 20 of Hitotsubashi International Residence Halls Regulation.

• Give the educational guidance determined to be necessary.

Such actions are taken only after careful consideration by appropriate officials of the University.

Article5 : Life-saving Measures

All residents should be mindful of safe drinking. In case of an emergency, all residents should take the appropriate measures (e.g. call ambulance immediately).

Supplementary Provisions

This transaction shall come into effect from November 20, 2020.
