In case of earthquakes
If you are inside the dorm:
First of all, protect yourself. Hide under a table and protect head with a cushion or magazine. Please keep away from anything fragile such as glass, fluorescent lamp, dish rack.
After the earthquake stops, open your room door and ensure a escape route. If you are using any firearm, make sure to turn it off. Due to possible ignition, turn off and unplug stoves or heaters, and turn off the breakers.
Evacuate to the nearest evacuation spot. The evacuation spot for this dorm is the field (south of B building).
☆ PLEASE DO NOT USE ELEVATOR DURING EVACUATION. YOU COULD GET TRAPPED INSIDE
During evacuation:
To prevent any injuries, wear long sleeves, long pants, and shoes that have thick soles.
Tuck in your valuables and food inside the evacuation bag you have prepared in advance and evacuate with it.
Leave your room from the front door. If you cannot escape from the front door, evacuate by breaking the veranda walls.
Use stairs to evacuate to the evacuation area ☆ Do not use elevator during evacuation, you could get trapped inside
Even if you notice that you have forgotten something, do not go back to your room to claim it.
At the evacuation Area:
Please listen and follow to instructions given from Plaza officers and University Staffs.
Any actions taken after evacuating to the evacuation area will be instructed by the plaza or university staff. Deciding by yourself and acting alone is dangerous. Please be patient and wait for instructions.
If you are outside of the dorm
Find a safe place where nothing will collapse and crouch to keep a low position until the earthquake stops.
After the earthquake stops, evacuate to the closest evacuation spot. (Evacuation areas are usually at local elementary schools and local middle schools.)
☆ If you are at university, please wait for instructions by university staffs
In case of fire
Call guard station with internal phone 9000. Or call 119 and say, "It's a fire" and give your address. Shout out "Fire" and let others know.
Use the nearest fire extinguisher to extinguish the fire.
If the fire is too strong, keep your head low to avoid inhaling smoke and evacuate from the spot. Shout out "Fire" and let others know. The evacuation spot for this dorm is the field(south of B building).

Precautions when using a fire extinguisher :
Keep away from fire. Hold the hose, and gradually approach as if sweeping with a broom.
When approaching, lower your posture and protect yourself from smoke and fire.
When using indoors, be sure to use the outlet on your back.
When using outdoors, use from the windward.
The fire extinguisher has an emission time of about 10 to 15 seconds and an emission distance of about 3 to 5 m.
