Dear new residents, welcome to ISDAK!
ISDAK stands for International Student Dormitory Association of Kodaira and represents the organization of the dormitory residents. Since A building was opened in 2002, it has been a place where domestic and international students live and have fun together for almost 20 years. Current residents are students from Hitotsubashi University, Tokyo Gakugei University, the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and the University of Electro-Communications, while the campus is managed by the Student Support Division of Hitotsubashi University, International Divisions of the other three universities, and the Plaza Office.
Over 500 people from more than 40 countries reside at ISDAK. Since people of different backgrounds are living together, it is important to accept the diversity of views and values, abide by the rules and respect each other. We have House Masters, RAs (Resident Assistants) and CAs (Community Assistants) as supporting staff, but dormitory residents are and have always been the principal part of ISDAK.
This e-guidebook is a booklet providing the residents with facts about the dormitory, so that they can fully enjoy their campus life. Here you can find information about the basic rules of the dormitory, the surrounding neighborhood, the places where to go in case of emergency and other things in details. The guidebook is designed to provide the new residents with answers to all the basic questions, so if you have a question please check the guidebook first, and if you cannot find the information here, feel free to ask RAs, CAs or House Masters.
“Making a place where each resident can feel safety and live comfortably” is our vision. We are trying our best to support your life here and promote inter-resident exchange. We hope that you will make plenty of beautiful memories during your life at ISDAK.
