Hitotsubashi University International Student Residence Hall (Ikkyo-ryo) Pledge
I will not use the room for a purpose other than a residential purpose (loan to others, warehouse, etc.).
I will not let other (family members, friends, partners, etc.) stay in my room.
I will not enter anyone’s room without their permission.
I will not change, remodel or set up additional items/furniture in my room.
I will neither bring pets, such as dogs, cats, etc. nor keep them in the residence hall.
I will not smoke outside designated areas, and I will not use equipment that will cause a fire.
I will not place items in the evacuation route in the residence hall.
I understand that advertisements can only be posted with permission.
I will always take off my shoes when entering a room in the residence hall.
I will not remove furniture and other items that belong in the room.
I will be responsible for managing valuable items on my own. Even if there are lost items, I understand that the management office, guard room, and the university cannot take responsibility for them.
Because the number of available rooms is limited, I understand it is not possible to request to move to another room.
Mandatory rules for residents:
I will make the payment for rent, utilities, and other fees by the assigned deadline. I understand that if my payment is delinquent for more than three months my residence right will be withdrawn.
I will respond promptly when there is contact from the university, management office and RA.
I will comply with “Hitotsubashi University international dormitory accommodation drinking arrangements.”
I will take responsibility for covering the costs if there is any breakage and/or contamination in the room. I will cover the costs and restore any items damaged.
Rules for the common living environment:
I will respect others’ living space and will be considerate toward neighbors with respect to noise.
I will actively participate in disaster-prevention drills for fires and other disasters.
I will contribute to the preservation of the living environment in the ISDAK community.
I will keep my personal belongings in my room. I understand that they may be thrown out if kept in the shared space.
I will proactively help to tidy up and maintain the environment of the residence hall by separating garbage appropriately and acknowledging the designated date and location of garbage collection.
I will respond promptly if I am informed about the segregation of garbage is not done properly.
For purposes of disaster-prevention inspection and in an emergency, I will allow entry into my room.
I will not force others to drink alcohol (especially underage individuals).
I will inform the university one month in advance about planned gatherings of over 20 people where alcohol will be served.
