Monday, April 27th

1) Choose a multiplication song to listen too. Listen to it a few times.

2) Play "Penguin Jump Multiplication". Use your multiplication chart to help if needed.

https://www.mathplayground.com/ASB_PenguinJumpMultiplication.html

3) There are different ways to show/represent multiplication. Watch the video below to see multiplication as repeated addition, then try these questions; show them as repeated addition.

Tuesday, April 28th

1) Pick a multiplication song to listen too. Listen to it a few times through.

2) Play "Tangram Puzzles". This game can be tricky, you need to move and rotate the pieces to fit into the shape given. Use the dot in the middle of the pieces to move them. Outside of the dot will turn white, when it does click in the white and it will rotate the pieces.

https://www.mathplayground.com/tangrams.html

3) Review the Repeated Addition video.

4) Another way to represent multiplication is as equal groups! It is as simple as it sounds. If I gave you 2x6, it is saying; 2 equal groups of 6. So I have 2 groups with 6 pieces in each group. Watch the video below and then try these problems.

5x4 6x2 3x4 2x7 6x5

Week of April 14th - April 17th (Week 1)

Tuesday, April 14th

1) Pick a multiplication song to do as a warm up. Listen to it a few times through. We will be starting to learn about arrays next week!

2) Before school was let out, we began learning about perimeter. Remember, to find the perimeter of a shape, all we do is add up ALL of the sides! If two of the sides are the same length, the measurement might only be given once.

Try the examples found below. Remember you need to show your work; I need to see how you got your answer. Also, you need to include your units - mm, cm, m, km, or whatever the sheet gives you.

Wednesday, April 15th

1) Pick another multiplication song as a warm up. Listen to it a few times through.

2) You will need a parents help for this activity, use whole numbers only please (easier for kids to add). Use a ruler or ask your parents for a tape measure; if you use a tape measure, make sure you use it CAREFULLY! You will also need a piece of paper and a pencil. Once you have your materials, find the perimeter of the following objects:

a) kitchen table

b) your bed

c) the top of your dresser

d) a window

e) a door

f) the front side of your dresser

g) the doorstep

Thursday, April 16th

1) Pick a multiplication song as a warm up. Listen to it a few times through.

2) Practice these 3-digit addition with regrouping problems. Remember you need to stack the numbers (on top of each other) so that your places line up (ones, tens, hundreds).

a) 629 + 792 =

b) 523 + 789 =

c) 299 + 899 =

d) 753 + 765 =
