DISCOVERY CELEBRATES!
Just as Discovery believes in the importance of valuing each and every child, we believe the same applies to our staff. After receiving our consumer choice award (INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF THE YEAR) we wanted to thank our hardworking staff who make Discovery such a special place to be. We ate a lot of good food, shared fantas and sang some karaoke.
None of us will ever forget Miss. Kellia's voice as she sang "Girl on Fire"! Who knew that our Receptionist had such hidden depths! So yet again we have to thank all of you who poured your hearts into voting. It means so much to us that you see how hard we work and the love we have for your children. #thediscoverydifference
Upcoming Learning Celebrations!
March 28th-1st April: Celebration of learning for English Primary(for Year 2 and above only).
4th April our year 1 & GS classes will hold a Art & Kinyarwanda presentation for parents
4-6th April will be half days for all students. This is so our parent-teacher meetings can take place in the afternoons.
5th & 6th April: No classes for early years students and the Francophone section. Instead they will participate in their end of term parent meetings, so you can see the learning in person! It will replace our regular parent-teacher meetings.
April 4th-6th: English Primary (aged 6+) will have our usual end of term parent-teacher meetings, to which only parents will attend. These will be half days for these students.

let's play ball!!!!
For their global perspectives class our year 6 had to plan an event on the importance of sports and leisure time. They organised a football match between our senior English (year 5 &6) and French (CM1, CE2 & CE1B) classes. They even made tickets for the event, which were used at the gate for the students who came to watch.
The whole event had a theme of team work and resilience. One student, Heba, gave a speech on the importance of both of these before the game started. Both sides had rehearsed cheers they did throughout for their respective teams.
The English section chose to be the blue hawks and the French section wanted to be the red dragons! It was a very close game with the blue hawks winning 5-3!
Certificates for participation and for the win were issued to both team's players. It was a respectful and entertaining game which has inspired us to hold more soon!
New Arrival Procedure Reminder
We have had to change our drop off and pick-up points due to a change in the road leading to the school. The Discovery junction has been narrowed down by a neighbour and now leaves only 6meters for traffic circulation. During the half-term break they had placed metal rods which they have currently removed. This is why we can only have one way traffic into the school.
To ease traffic flow,
If all your children are aged 4 and below, please drop them off at 8:00 am through the drive through area.
If you have children in the primary section, drop all children off in the parking area between 7:35 am and 7:55 am. Please do not park.
