The following Online Learning Platforms are ESSENTIAL tools for your child’s learning in this period. Please ensure that you and your child are connected to, and ready to use, the platforms that are relevant to his/her class:
Seesaw
This is our main communication platform, check it DAILY
Ensure your child does the activities set there by the teacher
Encourage your child to upload their work as required daily or as regularly as communicated by the teacher
Alert a member of the leadership team to any issues you have with Seesaw
If your child does not grasp a concept, it is okay to submit some incorrect work so that the teacher can design targeted support
Khan Academy
This platform supports numeracy/maths and even science learning
Your teacher might set specific activities on Khan Academy
Your child can login and practise on Khan Academy independently
All students ages 4-5 are required to do 15 minutes of daily math practice in Khan
Older children should take 20-45 minutes every day for Khan math practice
Lalilo
This platform supports literacy development for our Francophone Section and our Early Years English classes.
Children who use this platform must practice 20-30 minutes 3 - 5 times a week
Your child can login and practise on Lalilo independently
Reading A-Z (RAZ Kids) (French and English Literacy)
This app and its website version provide a digital library with hundreds of titles for children to read
Use it for independent daily reading practice, your child earns points that graduate his reading levels
Make sure your child listens to the book, reads the book, records themselves and completes the quiz at the end.
Daily independent reading is mandatory for children who read, especially ages 5 and above.
Every child is required to record their independent reading at least 3 times a week for about 10 - 20 minutes.
HeadSprout (English Language and Literacy)
Headsprout has lessons called episodes that cover both early reading and comprehension skills
Students in the English Section must work in HeadSprout for at least 30 minutes every day 3 to 4 times a week or as recommended by the teacher. (Ages 5+ for English primary)
