How do I find the right dentist? That was the question I asked when searching for Rochester NY Dentist. Choosing the right dentist is a serious matter for me. I had a very bad experience related to teeth before. I had a decaying, impacted wisdom tooth and no dentist to pull it for me. It was excruciatingly painful and I never wanted that to happen again.

So how do you find the right dentist?

STEP 1: ASK AROUND

The first thing to do when choosing a dentist is to talk to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Find out what they have to say about their dentists. Ask them if they go to a dentist they are happy or dissatisfied with. Do more research by asking them this question: Would you recommend your dentist to other people?

STEP 2: THE INTERNET

Many people use the Yellow Pages to find a dentist. This is the old fashioned way because now we have the internet. Many dentists and dental clinics now have websites. Use a decent search engine like Google to look for dentists in your area. Browse their websites and see what they have to offer. Find out about their credentials, how long they have been in business, their area of expertise, what type of education they have, and what technology they use. Of course, using only one website can mislead you. What you need to do is research further. Find out about things that will help you decide whether or not you can trust a particular dentist. In addition, you can visit review sites. In this day and age, it's hard for anyone to hide from a bad reputation. Find out if someone has had a bad experience with a particular dentist.

STEP 3: COMPARE

Now you have a shortlist of dentists in your area. Go through a comparison process before making appointments with the dentists.

STEP 4: MEET THE DENTIST
