  • How do I make effective transitions, add titles, and animate elements of a video?

What am I making?

  • Add transitions and titles and others extra edits to your existing video project.

  • A web page (example) on your Google Site titled "Video Editing Extras" with a link to the Video with all your final edits

How do I make it?

  1. YouTube Tutorial: Extra Editing Features with WeVideo shows the following

    • Use the small menu icon in the top-left to Save As a copy of the project

      • (so we can go back to the old version!)

    • Add self-recorded footage or voiceovers?

    • Add a video track for putting titles on top of video

    • Add titles and text graphics, and animate them (like scrolling end credits)

    • Add and modify transitions such as dissolves and wipes

    • Add overlays and backgrounds in higher or lower video tracks to blend with titles and footage

Steps

  1. Watch the latest version of your movie. Decide where you want titles and transitions.

  2. Using WeVideo, try the different techniques in the YouTube tutorial, and create a finished final edit of your movie.

  3. Use the Finish feature in WeVideo to export your movie.

  4. Upload edited movie to YouTube, and embed the video on a new Google Site Page called "Video Editing Extras" along with what you learned, then Publish the site, copy the page link, and turn it in Google Classroom.
