Video: Lighting

Lighting paints the mood into your shot.

It can also serve a practical purpose: lighting your character or subject.

3 point lighting is a common technique using 3 lights:

1. The Key light provides most of the light on the front of the subject.

2. Where there are shadows in the places the Key light cannot reach, the Fill light comes in from another angle and "fills" the rest of the subject.

3. The Back light is pointed at the back of the subject; its purpose is to separate the subject from the background.
