  • How do I describe my own Art?

What am I making?

  • A Final Portfolio showcasing images and videos and music you created in DMA class in Quarters 1 & 2 & 3 & 4: Your Final portfolio of the year!

How do I make it?

  • You can use any website or blog creation tool; Blogger is recommended if you're not sure

    1. See the Quarter 3 Portfolio 3: Blogger assignment for how-to steps for Blogger!

  • Choose:

    1. Either update your Quarter 3 portfolio and add Quarter 4 and other work - at least 4 pieces of work from the year

    2. or create a new portfolio and add work from 2020-2021 - at least 4 pieces of work from the year

  • Principles of Design & Typography apply to your blog posts and sites

Steps

  1. Choose images and videos and music you created for Quarters 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 in DMA. You can also select artwork created outside of class.

  2. If using Blogger, follow the steps here: Portfolio 3: Blogger (and Blogger Portfolio Video Tutorial on YouTube.)

    1. If not using Blogger, consult me if you have any difficulty using your chosen site / blog.

  3. Make sure to include at least 4 DMA projects from the year

  4. Copy the link for your Final Portfolio site, and turn that in for your Google Classroom assignment!

Save time later! You may organize your Posts or Pages of your Portfolio Site according to the Presentation of Learning prompts - just include your artwork on the posts/pages they relate to!

    1. Describe your Learning Experience

    2. How did you / could you have used Critical Thinking? (all assignments had decision-making!)

    3. How did you / could you have used Collaboration? (breakouts, office hours, anyone who helped you with projects)

    4. How did you / could you have used Communication? (what messages are you expressing in your artwork? Also, you can reference the What I Learned sections of your pages, and your Blogger posts, and previous Portfolios)

    5. Transfer Example #1: Describe how you can use what you learned in another area of your life in the future

    6. Transfer Example #2: Describe how you can use what you learned in another area of your life in the future

Grading

  • 4/A = Do all the instructions and show 4 or more artworks.

  • 3/B = Do all the instructions and show 3 artworks.

  • 2/C = Do all the instructions and show 1 or 2 artworks.

Career Connections

  • Presenting your work and showing understanding of it is good for getting jobs, contracts, and reflecting on your own art.
