• You don't have to use Google Photos, but that's easy, and easy is good! If you're interested, you can download the Lightroom app for your phone and play with it too ... some things you can do in Lightroom

Steps

1. Using Google Photos, make adjustments to 3 photos.

   • Save a Copy before editing each photo

   • Adjust Color, Light, Cropping as you like

2. Make a new Google Sites page titled Photographic Editing.

3. Add the 3 original photos with the 3 edited versions next to them using Layouts, or just Insert them in order.

4. Make sure you Uncrop each image.

5. Write notes in the captions for each image

   • for the originals, why you chose to edit the photo

   • for the edited photos, what settings you changed

6. Below everything, write a few sentences explaining what you learned about photography and photo editing doing this assignment.

7. Publish your page, copy the link shown in the chainlink icon, then paste the link into the Google Classroom assignment to turn in.

Grading

• 2/C = Page link showing 3 original photos and 3 edited photos with basic explanation.

• 3/B = Do the 2/C work, and discuss specific settings and techniques in the captions and the summary at the bottom.

• 4/A = Do the 3/B work, and tell a rich story about the settings and techniques in the captions and summary.

Career Connections

• Whenever you use photos to communicate, you can alter the message by altering the image.
