Steps
Choose Music: find a song or composition that you enjoy, that you know well, that inspires you visually
Brainstorm Visuals: make a list and/or sketch of video clip ideas that would go with certain segments of the song
Make a Plan: Decide which part of the song you will use - 15 to 30 seconds is fine, and if you want to go longer, that's your call. Divide your song into sections; write down the start times of each section. For each section, describe or sketch the visual video that will go with that section.
Tip: Video transitions work well during song transitions, or if they occur "on beat" according to the rhythm.
Get your Footage: Either find existing video clips or record original video clips to get the video footage needed for your plan. You can also do a mix of found footage and original footage.
Choose a Video Editor and Upload your Music and Footage: Lesson examples will use WeVideo, but you may use any phone or tablet app or laptop tool such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere. Import your song audio in an Audio Track an all your video clips in Video Tracks; trim your song audio down to the 15-30 second or longer section you have chosen; you can apply fade in/fade out effects to the beginning and end of the clip or start or finish cold.
Assemble your Edit: Move and trim video clips to match musical segments according to your plan. It's okay to be different from your plan, or try things as you play with it! Plans are flexible. Watch the video after putting everything in place - how do you feel about it? Make adjustments to the timing as needed.
Tip: Video transitions work well during song transitions, or if they occur "on beat" according to the rhythm.
Finalize your Edit: Tighten up all the transitions between clips. Use transition effects if wanted or needed (crossfades, cross dissolves, wipes). Add titles that support or credit your story.
Export your Movie to a File: Before exporting, make sure everything looks and sounds just like you want it (especially if using WeVideo).
Upload to YouTube: Mark it as Unlisted.
On Google Sites, under Pages, create a new page called Music Video.
Insert YouTube and paste the link of your music's video conversion.
Write about What You Learned during the process of making this video - what did you learn that would help you in future creations?
When done, push the Publish button, review the settings, and publish.
Then click the chain-link button, Copy the link for your page, and turn in the link.
