Inspirations: Responding to Art

When you Respond to a work of art, you provide helpful feedback to its artist:

  1. What do you like?

  2. What ideas would you recommend for the work of art?

Response Tips

  • Avoid using judgment words such as "beautiful" or "ugly"

  • Describe the work - elements, technical qualities

  • Analyze the work - how does it work as a whole?

  • Describe how the work makes you feel.

  • Evaluate the work - does it serve its purpose well? What improvements could be made?
