Roll & Write dice games are games where players roll one or more dice and then perform an action by writing on a piece of paper. One of the most famous examples is Yathzee. The field of roll & write game design has recently experienced a phenomenon amplified by the covid-19 pandemic during which we were all cooped up at home trying to figure out what to do. With this increased enthusiasm, new roll & write games have appeared that feature really interesting stories or scenarios, inspired by historical events or adventure games. French game designers have not been indifferent to this phenomenon. Our class endeavored to contribute some games in this stimulating and particularly fun design space. The advantage of these games, as you will see, is that they can often be played individually or in groups and the duration of the game generally does not exceed half an hour. All these games can of course be adapted to be played in person, solo or in a group.
