Below are links to tools and organizations that we have found fun and helpful.

Organizations

  • AMC Institute - A collaborative association that brings association management companies (AMC) together in sharing trends and marketing information affections associations.
  • ASAECenter.org - American Society of Association Executives provides resourses and educational training for professionals of non-profit organizations.
  • CalSAE - California Society of Association Executives provides regional resourses and educational training for professionals of non-profit organizations.
  • Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County - The Community Foundation connects people to the causes they care about and assists non-profits with education and pursuing grants for funding.

General

  • Comparemydocs.com - Can load multiple word or pdf documents and the website/program will scan and highlight the difference between the versions
  • PollEveryWhere - An inexpensive alternative to audience response systems. We have used this onsite at our conferences to survey attendees an provide instant responses onscreen during presentations.
  • TripIt - The TripIt trip planner keeps all of your travel plans in one spot. Create a master travel itinerary by forwarding your email confirmations and then access your itinerary planner online or on your mobile phone
  • Xobni – This is a Microsoft Outlook plugin that provides statistics and contact information on the people you correspond with; inclusive of the times they send emails, social media connections (LinkedIn, Facebook) and more.

Graphic Design Tools

  • Tagxedo - Like wordle below, but allows you to create the wordle in a particular shape such as an apple for education or the world for a global market.
  • Wordle.net - Quick wordles that can be used on the web or in graphic design
  • Pixie - A simple tool to grab quick color code

Publication / Website Tools

  • Issuu - Publish and embed electronic publications into your website.
  • QuantumDigital – This online printer has great prices and can provide quick turn around for postcards and small brochures. This printer provides limited service and does not handle large brochures, programs, newsletters, etc. However if you are looking to do a postcard reminder campaign they are the way to go. Price includes printing, labeling and postage or you can have them ship the pieces directly to you – depending on your order size they even include overnight delivery.
  • Snag It – This is a screen capture software that allows you to also record a voice over. We have utilized this tool to create several marketing and training videos for our associations.
  • Jingproject.com - Similar to snag it, allows screen capture and voice over. Great tool for training or marketing videos.
  • WUFOO– This application assists in building HTML contact forms, online surveys, and more. The first 3 forms are free!
