Shiela Locatelli Wallace, BS, CAE, CMP

Shiela Locatelli Wallace is a seasoned professional in the association management industry with a remarkable career spanning over 20 years. Her extensive experience reflects a deep understanding and appreciation for the diversity inherent in association management. Shiela has been an integral part of BTF Enterprises for many years, and in 2014, she and her business partner Stephanie took the significant step of purchasing the company from its original founder.

In terms of professional qualifications, Shiela holds the designation of Certified Account Executive (CAE) granted by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Additionally, she has earned the Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) certification through the Convention Industry Council (CIC). These certifications underscore her commitment to excellence and proficiency in association management and event planning.

Shiela takes on a multifaceted role within BTF Enterprises. As a business leader, she oversees operations and daily management, ensuring the smooth functioning of the organization. Her role extends to serving as the Executive Director for the California Association of Public Procurement Officials (CAPPO), where she brings her wealth of experience to guide and lead the association.

Furthermore, Shiela actively participates in the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce, contributing in various capacities that showcase her commitment to community engagement. Her expertise goes beyond traditional association management, as she possesses a strong background in systems analysis and information technology. This skill set allows her to efficiently oversee and analyze business and client administrative procedures, providing valuable insights for enhanced efficiency and training purposes.

Shiela plays a vital role in the success of BTF Enterprises and the associations she is associated with, bringing a wealth of experience, leadership, and a commitment to excellence to her professional endeavors.

Stephanie Munoz, BS, CMP, CEM

Stephanie Munoz is a professional with a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Business with an emphasis in Marketing, acquired from San Jose State University. Her educational background equips her with the skills necessary to aid associations in crafting effective marketing strategies for conferences and association membership. Stephanie has been an integral part of BTF Enterprises for many years, and in 2014, she and her business partner Shiela took the significant step of purchasing the company from its founder.

Currently holding the position of Executive Director for the California Association of Directors of Activities (CADA), Stephanie also serves as the lead meeting manager for the Association of Two-Way Dual Language Education (ATDLE). Stephanie also led the development of VTF by BTF, a Virtual Tradeshow Floorplan designed to assist our clients with managing their tradeshow sales.

Stephanie has earned two prestigious certifications that reflect her expertise in the field. She holds the Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation, conferred by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE). Additionally, she has obtained the Certified Meeting Planner Certification (CMP) through the Convention Industry Council (CIC).

Beyond her professional commitments, Stephanie is actively engaged in community service. She volunteers as a board member and committee member for the Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce, showcasing her dedication to supporting local business and community development. With her diverse skill set and experience, Stephanie Munoz plays a pivotal role in the success of the organizations and events she is associated with.

Additional Key Staff

Lori Oates, BS, CSEP

Lori joined BTF Enterprises and began a career in association management more than 10 years ago. Lori started working events with the International Live Events Association Northern California Chapter in 2013 and became the Executive Director of the Chapter in 2015 while also earning her Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) certification in 2016. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the California Staffing Professionals as well as the lead meeting manager for the County Welfare Directors Association. Lori has extensive experience in customer service, marketing, meeting planning, executive account management, and graphic design. Her undergraduate degree in fashion marketing and management from The Art Institute of California - San Francisco lends itself to her creative self-starter side while her experience in management lays the groundwork for her discipline and follow-through in the association landscape. She now supports multiple clients as an Executive Director and Meeting Planner overseeing day-to-day operations, financial management, board support, and much more.

Erica Gomez

Erica joined BTF Enterprises and began a career in association management more than 5 years ago. Her management and customer service experience has led her to be a key team member as the Account Manager of our largest client, the California Association of Directors of Activities, as well as our newest client the California Staffing Professionals. She oversees day-to-day operations for multiple clients, works closely with the board of directors providing them guidance and support, and has received several accolades from both the membership and the board for her excellent customer service. 

Betti Phillips, BS

Betti joined BTF Enterprises and began a career in association management over 5 years ago and she has quickly grown to be a key team member. Her experience in hospitality management lends itself to helping assist our clients as the Jr. Account Manager of our largest client the California Association of Directors of Activities, as well as the Account Manager of the Association of Two-Way Dual Language Educators. Betti has been dubbed the "follow-up queen" as she does a tremendous job of tracking all unpaid accounts and collecting on them. She serves as lead registration coordinator for the CA Welfare Directors Association's annual conference. Her degree in Business helps her in managing and tracking day-to-day operations, while her hospitality background provides her with excellent customer service skills.
