Access Policy
Underpinning all these activities is a robust policy framework that explicitly ensures BMC's lifelong learning initiatives are accessible to all, without discrimination.
Explicit Non-Discrimination Policy: BMC's official policy is unequivocal. It "prohibits discrimination against any member of its community based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin or ancestry, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, or disability in any of its related activities or operations." This policy is not limited to enrolled students but extends to "any member of its community," which logically includes participants in public events, courses, and outreach programs.
Active Commitment to Inclusivity and Protection: The policy further mandates that BMC will "protect its students and staff who are facing or reporting discrimination... from any kind of educational or employment disadvantage." This creates a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages participation from all demographics.
Operationalization of the Policy: This policy is brought to life through BMC’s initiatives. Events like the Women Health Empowerment event create safe spaces for female participants. Outreach to students with disabilities and orphans (e.g., the Eid celebration for orphans) demonstrates a commitment to including vulnerable and often marginalized groups. The collaborative event with the Nigerian Association celebrates cultural diversity and ensures international students and community members feel a sense of belonging.
BMC’s Embedded Culture of Lifelong Learning
BMC’s dedication to SDG 4 is both comprehensive and deeply embedded. It moves beyond a checklist of activities to demonstrate a cohesive, strategic, and value-driven ecosystem. Through a powerful synergy of free public resources (certified courses, facility access), a dynamic calendar of free public events on critical topics, structured vocational training that enhances employability, extensive and programmed educational outreach that takes knowledge into the community, and a foundational non-discrimination policy that guarantees inclusivity, BMC ensures that quality education is a continuous, accessible, and transformative force for every member of its broader community.
This holistic approach positions BMC as a leading institution in the region for bridging the gap between academia and society, directly supporting the human capital development goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. BMC is not just educating its students; it is cultivating a lifelong learning culture that empowers the entire community.
